Mobile towers targeted in Punjab, more than 1500 demolished, CM said – this is not tolerable

The farmers movement is hitting Mobile towers in Punjab.

According to the report, more than 1500 mobile towers have been damaged in the state so far by Farmers.

Power of many mobile towers has been cut, bundles of wire have been burnt in many places.

It is alleged that the farmers and their allies protesting against the new agricultural laws are damaging the towers. Earlier, farmers were accused of venting their anger on Reliance Petrol Pump, Reliance Retail.

In the last few days, incidents of cutting of power of towers, cutting of electric wires are coming out in Punjab.

There is a perception among the farmers that the firms of Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani will be the biggest beneficiaries of the new agricultural laws, so the farmers are venting their anger on the resources of these companies.

According to PTI, a source said that 1411 mobile towers were damaged till Saturday, this figure has crossed 1500 on Monday.

Jio wires burnt in Jalandhar 

Jio’s wires were burnt in Jalandhar. There are 9000 mobile towers for jio. The power supply of most towers is being shut down.

Government sources told India Today TV that 433 mobile towers have also been repaired so far, but the situation deteriorated when some protesters threatened the employees overseeing the tower with bad results.

1504 Mobile towers damaged

Statistics show that the number of damaged towers doubled in three days. The number of towers damaged on December 25 was 700, now this number has increased to 1504.

Captain Amarinder Singh has come into action after the incidents of sabotage on mobile towers.  The chief minister said destruction of any private or public property in Punjab will not be tolerated.

Capt Amarinder Singh said that peaceful protests are not banned in the state but property damage will not be tolerated. CM has ordered the police to take action against such people.

However, the Punjab Police has not taken action against any person till now.

According to Section 25 of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885, there is a provision of 3 years punishment for damage to telecom properties.

Impact on telecom services

The destruction of mobile towers has had an impact on communication services. Phone services have been disrupted at many places.

Students studying through mobile have had problems.

Chief Minister Amarinder said that the loss of communication resources in this way would be detrimental for students.

Especially those preparing for board exams and professionals working from home due to the covid pendemic.

He said that banking services are also largely dependent on online transactions, due to the sabotage in mobile, this is also being affected.
