Washington, ANI. The US has claimed to have killed al Qaeda terrorist Qasim al-Rimi in an anti-terror operation in Yemen. The statement issued by the White House said that under the direction of President Donald Trump, the US launched an anti-terrorism campaign in Yemen, in which al Qaeda terrorist Qasim al-Rimi was killed. He was the founder of Al-Qaeda’s Arabian Peninsula Unit (AQAP). He was close to al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Qasim was running the terrorist organization Al Qaeda in al-Rimirab Peninsula. The White House wrote in a tweet, “On the direction of President Donald Trump, the US launched an anti-terrorism campaign in Yemen, which ended the founder and al-Qaeda terrorist Qasim al-Rimi in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).”

US officials claim that Rimi had committed many crimes against civilians in Yemen and also carried out several attacks on the US military.

The statement issued by the US said that AQAP, led by Rimi, committed violence against civilians in Yemen and sought to conduct and induce multiple attacks against the United States and our military. ‘ The White House further stated that the US would continue to protect the interests of its people and allies.
