The ‘Indus Eye’ will significantly increase the surveillance capacity of the country and will help in keeping an eye on military and business activities in the Indian Ocean.

ISRO chief K Sivan told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the satellite was launched on Sunday through PSLV-C51.

ISRO, on Sunday, under the first dedicated mission of its commercial unit ‘New Space India Limited’ (Ensil),

successfully launched the Amazonia-1 and 18 other satellites of Brazil from the Sriharikota Space Center here through PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) C-51.

ISRO Launched Five of these 18 satellites are built by students.

Sivan said that the ‘Indus Eye’ was part of the satellites launched.

Sources said that the satellite developed by the Defense Research Development Organization

Can monitor military and merchant navy vessels in the Indian Ocean region, important for India’s strategic and commercial interest.

The ‘Indus Eye’ will significantly increase the surveillance capacity of the country and will help in keeping an eye on military and business activities in the Indian Ocean.

Indus Eye has been prepared by young scientists of DRDO.

The total commercial launch of NSIL

This was the first fully commercial launch of New Space India Limited.

NSIL was formed as a public sector company under the Department of Science in 2019 to oversee the commercial launch of ISRO.

According to sources, India’s ability to monitor in its area with the Indus Eye has increased a lot. Border areas brought from China, such as from Ladakh to Pakistan’s border areas, can now be closely monitored.

Apart from this, the South China Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and African coasts will also be monitored by this.
